Parvo is a highly contagious gastrointestinal virus in puppies and unvaccinated dogs that makes them very sick.

Parvo spreads directly (an infected dog) and indirectly (contaminated environment).

Symptoms: vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, low energy, and possibly fever.

Parvo is preventable! The DAPP vaccine protects your puppies and dogs against distemper (D), adenovirus (A), parvovirus (P), and parainfluenza (P). Boosters are needed.

Treating parvo is hard and expensive. Parvo can be deadly if not treated quickly and aggressively.

Parvo outbreaks increase in the fall and spring.

Parvo is Canine parvovirus. It may also be called CPV and CPV2.

Prevent parvo by scheduling an appointment at Winterville Animal Clinic if you are near Athens, Georgia and if your puppy or dog is unvaccinated or due for a booster.
